Carl Sagan's Cosmos: Hindu Cosmology and Creation of Universe

In Hindu cosmology, the universe is cyclically created and destroyed. Its cosmology divides time into 4 epochs or Yuga, of which the present interval is the Kali Yuga.

In response to Carl Sagan:
“The Hindu faith is the one one of many world’s nice faiths devoted to the concept that the Cosmos itself undergoes an immense, certainly an infinite, variety of deaths and rebirths. It’s the solely faith during which time scales correspond to these of contemporary scientific cosmology. Its cycles run from our extraordinary day and evening to a day and evening of Brahma, 8.64 billion years lengthy, longer than the age of the Earth or the Solar and about half the time because the Huge Bang.”
