जटाटवीगलज्जलप्रवाहपावितस्थले
गलेऽवलम्ब्य लम्बितां भुजङ्गतुङ्गमालिकाम् ।
डमड्डमड्डमड्डमन्निनादवड्डमर्वयं
चकार चण्डताण्डवं तनोतु नः शिवः शिवम् ॥१॥
Jatatavigalajjala pravahapavitasthale
Galeavalambya lambitam bhujangatungamalikam
Damad damad damaddama ninadavadamarvayam
Chakara chandtandavam tanotu nah shivah shivam .. 1
Which means:
From the forest of his matted lock, water flows and wets his neck,
On which hangs the best of snake like a garland,
And his drum incessantly performs damat, damat, damat, damat,
And Shiva is engaged within the very vigorous manly dance,
To bless and bathe, prosperity on all of us.
जटाकटाहसम्भ्रमभ्रमन्निलिम्पनिर्झरी_
विलोलवीचिवल्लरीविराजमानमूर्धनि ।
धगद्धगद्धगज्जलल्ललाटपट्टपावके
किशोरचन्द्रशेखरे रतिः प्रतिक्षणं मम ॥२॥
Jatakatahasambhrama bhramanilimpanirjhari
Vilolavichivalara ivirajamanamurdhani
Dhagadhagadhagajjva lalalatapattapavake
Kishorachandrashekhare ratih pratikshanam mama .. 2
Which means:
The celestial river agitatedly shifting by his matted hair,
Which makes his head shine with these tender waves,
And his brow shining like a superb fire-daga daga,
And the crescent of moon which is an decoration to his head,
Makes my thoughts love him every second.
धराधरेन्द्रनन्दिनीविलासबन्धुबन्धुर
स्फुरद्दिगन्तसन्ततिप्रमोदमानमानसे ।
कृपाकटाक्षधोरणीनिरुद्धदुर्धरापदि
क्वचिद्दिगम्बरे मनो विनोदमेतु वस्तुनि ॥३॥
Dharadharendrana ndinivilasabandhubandhura
Sphuradigantasantati pramodamanamanase
Krupakatakshadhorani nirudhadurdharapadi
Kvachidigambare manovinodametuvastuni .. 3
Which means:
The consort of the ever sportive daughter of the mountain,
Whose thoughts rejoices at her aspect lengthy glances,
With the stream of merciful look which removes hardships,
Makes my thoughts have the benefit of him who wears the instructions as attire.
जटाभुजङ्गपिङ्गलस्फुरत्फणामणिप्रभा
कदम्बकुङ्कुमद्रवप्रलिप्तदिग्वधूमुखे ।
मदान्धसिन्धुरस्फुरत्त्वगुत्तरीयमेदुरे
मनो विनोदमद्भुतं बिभर्तु भूतभर्तरि ॥४॥
Jatabhujangapingala sphuratphanamaniprabha
Kadambakunkumadrava praliptadigvadhumukhe
Madandhasindhurasphura tvagutariyamedure
Mano vinodamadbhutam bibhartu bhutabhartari .. 4
Which means:
He, with the shining lustrous gem on the hood
Of the serpent entwining his matted locks,
He, who’s along with his bride whose face is adorned
By the melting of pink saffron Kumkum,
And He who wears on his shoulder the cover
Of the elephant which was blind with ferociousness,
Makes my thoughts completely satisfied and contented,
In him who’s the chief of Bhoothas*.
* will be taken to imply as souls or legendary beings guarding Kailasa.
सहस्रलोचनप्रभृत्यशेषलेखशेखर
प्रसूनधूलिधोरणी विधूसराङ्घ्रिपीठभूः |
भुजङ्गराजमालया निबद्धजाटजूटक
श्रियै चिराय जायतां चकोरबन्धुशेखरः ||५||
Sahasralochanaprabhritya sheshalekhashekhara
Prasunadhulidhorani vidhusaranghripithabhuh
Bhujangarajamalaya nibaddhajatajutaka
Shriyai chiraya jayatam chakorabandhushekharah .. 5
Which means:
Could he whose foot stool is adorned
By the ever flowing flower mud.
Falling the bent head of Indra and different Gods,
And should He, whose matted locks are tied by the king of serpents,
And should he, whose head is adorned
By the crescent moon who a good friend of Chakora*
Bathe prosperity for ever on me.
* A legendary fowl which lives by consuming moon gentle.
