Earlier than the beginning of the Kurukshetra Conflict, Prince Arjuna is reluctant to enter battle as he has to battle his family members, beloved pals and revered lecturers.
In desperation, Arjuna turns to his charioteer and mentor, Krishna for recommendation. Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and divulges the character of the Self.

The battle of shreyas and preyas enshrouds the Dharma yuddha
ashocyan anvashocas tvam (You grieve for individuals who should not worthy of grief)
In each Krishna and Arjuna It shines eternally
One is aware of and the opposite is aware of not
A actuality that shines even in a single’s ignorance

nasato vidyate bhavo nabhavo vidyate satah

avinashi tu tadviddhi yena sarvamidam tatam
vinashamavyayasyasya na kashchitkartumarhati

That the Self is definitely Brahman
That which no weapons can kill!
